Jeff Lemire continues to excel at writing his own stories (Marvel and DC characters, not so much...except for Old Man Logan). We are now five volumes into this space story that involves a conflict between robots and humanoids over nine different worlds. Mr. Lemire has done a decent job developing a number of different characters, both human and robot. Usually, the characters caught in the middle of this type of conflict are the most interesting. While those in-the-middle types are the major protagonists, the characters at command of the battling forces are actually more compelling. I'd like to see more of them.

The is fairly unique, with a lack of focus on backgrounds. All around a solid comic.

it wasn't a bad volume or great either, I don't know if I felt that why because I was over hyped, overall I liked it and can't wait to read the next volume
Beautiful!
Exciting story with beautifully stark illustrations. Some of my favorite art being made in comics today is found in this series.
The continuation of this outstanding sci-if epic does not disappoint. Mr Nyugen’s artwork in particular stands out, using a gorgeous watercolor technique with breathtaking splash pages littered throughout.
I've been a fan of this entire series, and this volume is probably one of my favorites. Everything there series has been building towards feels paid off. There art is fantastic, as always, and the characters were all working for me.
Truly an interesting series, wish they came out faster but then I would have it to look forward too. Good character development, good story line, sci-fi multi-species universe. But I really love the time that was clearly spent developing the look, illustration of the images. I love the watercolors. Done by a very talented and skilled hand!
My one major knock on this series as a whole is the pacing. Not sure what the endgame is but it feels like it’s forever away and we haven’t moved a whole lot on the way to it.

Still, great book. Characters are great and I love the ideas. And the artwork is the real seller. If you’ve been enjoying the series then this is still for you.
