When Edward Weathers left England and restarted his father’s shipping business in South Carolina, he left his younger brother, William, at home to pick up the pieces. Years go by and not only does Edward have a prosperous shipping business, but he becomes a well-known smuggler and a captain in the Continental army.
As war becomes unavoidable between England and her colonies, William is sent to Boston to help keep the peace. William is forced to come to terms with his hatred and jealousy towards his brother, as well as his growing attachment to his brother’s beautiful wife, Margaret.
Pursued by the arrogant Colonel Pearson, who will stop at nothing to destroy him, William has to protect Margaret, not only from his enemies, but hers as well.

This book did a fantastic job of making you think, what would I have been like during that time period. You can picture yourself in each one of the authors many scenarios of an Englishman, American Soldier, American Colonist, Widower and more. She takes you through a variety of emotions as she weaves you through the different locations and time periods. The authors connection to faith and prayer is outstanding and again brought up the question, what would I have been like if I had gone through the same trials and tribulations the characters went through.Product details
